About
Hi, I'm Giovanni, a software developer and cybersecurity consultant based in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
I started writing code in 1998 and never stopped. Along the way, I explored photography, video editing, motion graphics, and UX design. While I enjoy the creative side of technology, my focus and expertise have always been in software engineering.
In 2008, I launched my first startup, a digital signage platform. Although it didn’t succeed, it taught me invaluable lessons about entrepreneurship and product development. In 2011, I co-founded Blimp to build software for advertising agencies. Over time, we shifted toward consulting, and today Blimp designs and builds custom software solutions for clients across many industries.
In 2016, I founded Alias Payments (originally Gasolina Móvil), a mobile payments platform that allowed consumers to pay at the gas pump using their smartphones. I served as CTO until 2022, leading one of the most technically complex projects of my career. The platform required custom hardware integrations, low-level code, payment processing systems, and PCI compliance. I also built and managed the engineering team while keeping product quality and customer satisfaction at the center.
In 2022, I focused my attention on my consulting practice, offering cybersecurity services for tech startups and developing custom software across multiple industries.
In 2025, I joined Bold as a Senior AI Engineer, where I work on agentic technologies, large language model integrations, and intelligent automation systems that are exploring new possibilities of how we interact with software.
In the past this site was named elweb and lived at the domain elweb.co. I moved away from that name, but the old domain still redirects here.
